Community Garden Project
The Community Garden Project helps children learn how food is grown, from planting seeds to enjoying what they’ve helped produce.
Through hands-on gardening, children learn about healthy eating, growing their own food and caring for the environment, while taking pride in seeing their work turn into meals and snacks they can enjoy together.
Children help plant, grow and care for a range of fruit and vegetables, such as potatoes, strawberries, courgettes, green beans and aubergines. Produce is not sold. It is used in meals or snacks for the children, helping them experience the full journey from seed to plate.
We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment. Read our Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy.
When it runs
The project runs throughout the year where possible, following seasonal growing cycles for different plants.
