Volunteer with us

Volunteers play a vital role in the life of the East Neuk Centre Trust.

Whether you’ve got a few hours a week or just want to help out now and then, we’d love you to get involved.

What you can do

We have a range of volunteer opportunities across our community projects:

  • Community Fridge – help collect and sort food donations, stock the fridge and welcome visitors
  • Community café – cook, serve or help tidy up at our Cosy Café, which provides free hot meals on Mondays
  • Youth work – support local youth clubs with activities and games (PVG may be required)
  • Garden project – help plant, grow and harvest vegetables in our raised beds

Volunteering opportunities are available seven days a week — mornings, afternoons and evenings — depending on the role.

Why volunteer?

People volunteer for all kinds of reasons – to give back, meet new people, or gain confidence and experience. Whatever your motivation, you’ll be doing something worthwhile for the local community.

In 2024 alone, our café volunteers cooked and served over 1,500 free meals, while others helped reduce food waste through our fridge and grew fresh produce in our garden project.

What to expect

You don’t need any special skills or qualifications – just a willingness to help and a positive attitude. When you apply, we’ll ask about your interests and any relevant experience.

  • All volunteers receive a Volunteer Handbook with everything you need to know.
  • Some roles may require membership of the Protective Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme managed by Disclosure Scotland.
  • We’ll ask you to provide a reference.
